Like a fairy tale, a toolbox starts with a small introduction. In the beginning, you have some small tasks at home or garage. And for its completion, you need your first tool.
The time goes on, and after several years, the rookie becomes an experienced homeowner or professional repairman with great projects and toolboxes.
Here we got all Tools to Have in Workshop to pass a full way from the beginner to the professional.
Dive with us to our tool fairy tale, and we will pass together every step from the DIY Newbie to the Professional Carpenter.
Chapter One – Newbie Level
Usually, we don’t notice our first well-done job at home. Duct tape is one of the most popular, versatile, and useful items to have for your DIY projects.
This durable polyurethane rubber adhesive is very sticky. You can use it for anything – temporarily repair small tears or holes, attaching a handle to a toolbox.
The options to use it are so many as possible endings of a fairy tale. Also, there are lots of different tapes – heat-resistant, water-resistant, and so on, but it is another level.
Screw Driver Set
Basically, if something in your home is fastened together, to the wall or floor. And you didn’t use duct tape for it. It is fastened with screws.
The screwdriver is one of the most often used tools from a toolbox and is the classic tool that everybody knows how to use. Just be sure that you took the right tip.
To make usage of a screwdriver easy in the future, always place it back to the set. Otherwise, you will lose tons of time searching for it in a toolbox.
For those rookies, who don’t have enough space to store all the tools or just want to save money, there is a multi-bit screwdriver. Only one handle and several bits look to be handy.
Pay attention to the handle. It has to be comfortable and without any grip ribs. Another way you will get corn on your hands. But in general, I swear you will buy a screwdriver set later or an electric screwdriver.
This is a must-have tool for everybody who will do something himself. It doesn’t cost a lot and at the same time, works for different sizes of nuts and bolts.
After some time, it will be more comfortable to use a socket set, but at the beginning, the adjustable wrench is just what you need.
It is a convenient tool that can be used daily. Do you need to open a box or a sealed package? Do you want to sharp a pencil and don’t have a pencil sharpener? Do you need to cut cardboard? Honestly, the uses of the utility knife are endless.
After a duct tape, another tape that will be very useful is Flex Tape. The main difference – more tasks could be done with a longer lifetime of the result.
Flex Tape is a super-strong and sticky tape, that can work on all surfaces, even underwater. Definitely a must-have tool for every toolbox.
It is obvious that you need this tool, but many people often forget about it. How will you cut a Flex Tape or Duct tape? Don’t forget to pick one pair of scissors. At least, you already know how to use it.
Probably, this the only industrial spray that could be found almost in every house, car, or garage.
Like the utility knife, the uses of WD-40 are practically endless, you can use it for squeaky door hinges and many other ways. So it is always better to have two spray cans.
The irreplaceable assistant when you need to repair something rapidly. It can attach to each over wood, glass, leather, plastic, metal, and much other staff.
It is also handy when you accidentally broke something, and don’t want the owner to know about it.
Chapter Two – Rookie Level
At this level, we become more confident. We want to handle more tasks. We are ready to suggest our help for doing a small job, as an example – to hang photo frames on the wall.
Before doing such a job, you always have to prepare safety tools, so let’s begin with it!
Work gloves cover several goals, my loveliest – they keeping your hands clean. Other purposes are safety and comfort.
Most important, gloves save your hands from physical treatment. It is much harder to cut yourself when you are wearing gloves, and it is warmer to work during the cold weather in them.
Safety glasses don’t provide extra comfort but protecting your eyes. While you are drilling the wall, it is elementary to get some dust in your eyes, and at least that will be unpleasant.
Don’t even try to saw metal or wood without the safety glasses; just a small sliver of wood in your eye will cause many problems.
Right safety glasses are made from a polycarbonate lens, which provides impact resistance. They cost $10, but it worth it. Safety equipment is for sure have to be in the list of Tools to Have in Workshop.
To hang the frames in the right place, you need such things as measuring tape. In another way, the whole process will become madness.
When you are a beginner in building or DIY, you don’t have a trained eye. So you need to measure everything.
Small, but very handy tool. Make it easy to mark on all possible surfaces. Hint – carpenter pencil won’t roll away, because it has an oval shape.
Cordless Drill / Driver
Someone will say that it is a screwdriver for lazy. I will say that it is one of the most popular tools in every toolbox because it saves lots of time and energy.
Better to have two batteries for unstoppable work. And don’t forget to charge it after you finished your project. For the beginner, simple models are OK. But if you are planning to use it often, we recommend buying more expensive ones.
Usually, the cordless drill has already some bits which go in the set. But it would be enough, only if you have only one size of all hardware around you.
A good set of bits is the base of every toolbox. Pay attention to choose the one, with several different bits – screwdrivers, drills, hex, and others.
This is another widely used tool at home. How to use nails without a hammer?
With the hammer, you can drive the nails in, and in case you have a claw hammer (which I recommend) with the opposite side, you can pry them out. The opportunities to use a hammer at home are endless.
Hex Wrench Set
Want to buy inexpensive ready-to-assemble furniture? No problems, just prepare the hex wrench. Hex-shaped hardware is very popular, and you can meet it not only in furniture but also in cars, bicycles, and other stuff.
The list of Tools to Have in the Workshop will not be full without Hex Wrench Set.
Pliers are very popular among professionals and non-professional because of their high gripping power to hold whatever you want. They can help to twist and snip easily.
Socket Tool Kit Set
Choose the correct size of the socket, and you can easily tight or loos nuts. This tool has a ratchet, so it very easy to operate with it, even if you don’t have much space.
Different sizes of wrench make it possible to handle any nut.
Sometimes it is impossible to access the nut with a wrench. In some situations, you just don’t have enough space. At this moment, a usual wrench will be handy. It is thin and can be used almost everywhere. We recommend taking a look at Sunex Tools
As we have mentioned in small spaces, we also have to say about dark areas.
In some situations, the daylight not reaching some areas, or you may need to do something during the night without an option to turn the light on.
In such circumstances, the flashlight will be irreplaceable. Bright and light, these is the features you have to look for.
Flashlight work on batteries. And probably there are lots of things in your house which work on them. Usually, we have a mess in a kitchen drawer and don’t understand which battery is alive, and which is not.
A battery organizer helps keep your batteries neat and organized. Some organizers have a battery tester, which is not only handy but also, it is in our Tools to Have in Workshop list.
Surprise! The last tool in our Rookie level is not another socket or screwdriver.
Air compressors are useful at home because it makes it possible to inflate wheels of your car, sons bicycle, all balls and even an air mattress for your guests.
At the end of this level, you will have lots of different tools, which need a particular space to be stored. A toolbox makes it possible to organize them and keep them in the right order.
So you will not lose any time to find the tool which you need at the moment. Also, the toolbox allows you to take all the tools easily, the place where you will use it. No more runs between the garage and work area.
Chapter Three – Skilled Level
The difference between a rookie and a skilled master is in the variety of tasks they can handle. While rookie can operate only with a shortlist of tools and tasks. A skilled master has a much more significant range of all possible jobs to do.
If you are sure that you will come to this level, then you can skip some steps in previous chapters and start from a toolset.
The benefit of a toolset is that it already has almost all the most popular tools in it. And buying it all together will cost you cheaper, as you will buy it separately. Also, you will get a handy storage case.
The difference between a rookie and a skilled master is also in detail. While the rookie is using the chair to reach out to the highest point for the future hook for the frame. The master is using the ladder. Besides, using the ladder is much safer.
Another point in safe equipment that uses the master is earmuffs to protect ears from loud sound. I don’t recommend to cut the budget on it and choose comfortable earmuffs with a high hearing protection ratio.
The 34db rate is more than enough for all possible tasks at the moment and in the future. You can drill, saw, demolition in such earmuffs, and be on the safe side.
Simple, but a handy thing. An extension cord will bring more comfort to your work. 25ft is enough to use at home. For outdoor use, I recommend 50ft.
One more advice is to buy a bright colored cord so that it will be visible for people around you. Sometimes you can use extension cord for charging electric car.
Work outdoor? Need to raise to the top some hardware? All you need to do this job is a rope. There are plenty of options on the market. Choose which one you like more.
Still talking about the details which differ the master from the rookie. Cable ties bring more order to all cables, makes it easier to keep it clean and to find the one which is needed, in case something will happen.
The handsaw is a classic. Of course, you can say the chainsaw is much better and efficient. But in some cases, the handsaw just don have a substitution.
No doubt, it is one of the most popular tools among professionals carpenters. The reason for that – handsaw is much faster for making quick and small cuts.
Spatula, spreader, scraper, spackle. All these terms mean a putty knife. A putty knife is useful for a variety of jobs. You can scrape paint with it or spread plaster.
There are so many things to do with it. There are also different sizes and forms available. Just choose the one which will suit your job better.
With long and narrow tips, these pliers can get into very tight spaces. Another use – every job, where your fingers are too big or too weak to get a good grip. You can use them at home, garage, or back yard. In other words – these pliers are in the must-have list.
Hardware Assortment Kit
Sometimes you need to replace the lost nut, bolt, or screw. For this reason, such a kit is a treasure. Another reason to have different hardware under your hand ii the possibility to finish every job where you need to fix something speedy without an extra run to the DIY shop.
Electrical Insulation Tape
This item is a must-have for anyone who is planning to work with electricity. As mentioned in the name, this tape insulates. It insulates electrical wires, is made of vinyl, and is very cheap.
Do you need a straight horizontal line? The usual bubble level can help to draw it in second. For sure, the level is in the top 10 most used tools of a professional carpenter.
You can buy one for $2, but I recommend to invest a little bit more to get different levels in one, ruler, and laser as a bonus.
Walabot Stud Finder
Do you want to become a superman with an X-ray vision? A stud finder will help you. It helps to avoid electric cables and pipes in the wall and find the best place to drive in a screw.
Usual stud finders are a bit challenging to read and understand in case you are not a professional carpenter. Walabot made a solution for all ordinary people like you and me. Attach it to your phone on Android and look inside the wall. That’s it.
Hose clamps not used often but very handy when you are working with plumbs at home or in your car. We recommend having it, but the final decision is up to you.
From my point of view, this list of Tools to Have in Workshop will not be full without it.
A must-have tool in case you are living in the countryside. It is the fastest way to cut the tree or its branch. Just be careful and always think about safety.
There are different types of chainsaw on the market, electric with cord or on battery, also the classic one with a two-stroke engine. The handiest is without the cable, electric, or gas? It’s up to you.
Chisels are used to sharping and carving wood. This is not the first tool that you have to add to your toolbox, because it is not often used.
But you will buy it over some time, and we recommend to do it earlier. As earlier you will buy it, the earlier you will start to work with wood.
Do you need to demolish a wall or something else? Sledgehammer is the first tool you will use. Pay attention that it has to be comfortable to use. Good grip to hold it, better if it has shock reduction feature, and forged in one piece is in must features.
Another tool that will be useful to demolish. Nevertheless, it is also instrumental in repair and construction. Need to drill a solid wall? This hammer drill will be hard not to use. Just do not forget to buy the right drill bits.
The Jab Saw is not so powerful as a hand saw or chain saw. But when it comes to cutting drywall or making holes for electrical outlets, this is the only right tool.
Drywall is too strong to cut with a utility knife and too weak to cut it with something bigger than a jab saw. In case that 99% of houses have drywalls, this tool is a must-have.
We have started our third chapter with a toolset, but the socket set is not a similar thing. It is an excellent addition to it. Besides, it is super handy in case you would like to repair your car. There are plenty of different sizes for nuts and bolts.
Just in case you didn’t like our first choice for the toolset. Or it seems to be too small. Here is another excellent toolset that will cover many different functions. As a bonus – it has already an attractive and robust toolbox.
Oil Filter Pliers
We mentioned the possible repair works with a car. We can’t put a dot on this topic without saying about oil filter pliers.
Your vehicle requires an oil change at least once a year, and that costs a lot in an auto repair station. For sure you can do it by yourself and save money. The only tool you will need is an oil filter pliers.
Working outside the house? Let’s make it more joyful. The job site radio has a good sound and protection from possible falls and other incidents.
We recommend choosing one which can work on batteries. Honestly, radio is not a tool, but makes job process much more enjoyable, so it deserves to be on this Tools to Have in Workshop list.
Sometimes you will work outdoors on cold days. During such work, it is elementary to catch the flu. To avoid it and stay healthy, it is better to have a heated jacket in your wardrobe.
The right heated jacket is waterproof, made from solid fabric, and has battery-powered heating elements.
One big wheel, two handles, and a deep, heavy-duty steel tray. Nothing has changed for many years in its construction. For hundreds of years, it allows people to move gravel, sand, and dirt without a lot of effort.
As you can understand from the name, the wire strippers used to strip wires of their insulation. This tool will get rid of the plastic coating and expose the copper. You can meet mechanical and automated strippers. The difference is in price and comfort.
The dremel is a multitool that uses a variety of attachments and accessories. Depends on the attachment you use, you can work with wood, metal, glass, plastic, and many other materials. Notice that it is essential to use safety goggles all the time when you work with Dremel.
Work apron is not only stylish but is also useful. They have become quite popular, as they provide excellent protection for your clothing while working.
The best one made from durable textiles has convenient pockets to store utensils for quick and easy access and has an adjustable neck strap.
Do you know any other tool that allows you to dig, lift, and move bulk thing? For example, such as soil, coal, gravel, or sand? If yes, write please to us what is it.
The main idea of a snow shovel and the usual shovel is the same. But the difference is in shape and materials. Snow shovel usually is made from plastic, to make them very light. Also, it is much wider to lift lots of snow in one moment.
Snap Ring Pliers
One more tool to the auto mechanic’s toolbox. These pliers are made for easy removal and install of snap rings. The snap rings are fasteners that are used to fix something onto a shaft.
Nail punch could be found in every carpenter’s set. It is used to hammer nail heads into just below the surface of the wood. Sometimes you can not achieve a place with a hammer; at this moment, nail punch comes to help.
Unfortunately, almost everybody knows what a seal is. To conquer it, you need a plunger. Submerge the plunger and make sure the rubber ring is inserted directly into the drain opening.
Push and pull on the handle without lifting it. Wait for 10 seconds and repeat until breaking the seal.
This piece of metal has flattened, and a curve ends with a small fissure. These fissures used for removing nails. Also, you can use it to pry open objects or separate fastened pieces.
A caulking gun is used to squeeze silicon from its tube. Someone can say that Squeeze tube caulk can be applied without the use of this gun and will be right. But it will be very uncomfortable.
Silicone Sealant Caulk
Silicone sealant is best for tile and window glass and any caulking that probably will get wet. It is often used in bathrooms and kitchens as a sealant. The price is low. The benefits are huge.
A hose is a useful tool not only outside the house but also can be helpful inside. The best one is flexible, lightweight, and abrasion-resistant. In case you will use it to transfer drinking water, pay attention that it should be lead-free.
Chapter Four – Experienced Level
After you have passed previous levels, you became an experienced repairman. Now you know how to deal with lots of different tools and can accomplish many repair tasks at home.
On a qualified level, you can start to handle very taff tasks. You can raise the quality of your job without increasing your spent time.
Or you can start to earn money from your skills. But the main important point – you start to work with more complicated tools.
When you are almost a professional carpenter, you have lots of tools. A usual toolbox will be too small, so that you will need something huge.
Our best choice is a hardware chest. If at the moment you can’t fill the whole chest, don’t panic. Very soon you will need another one.
This is a classic method to make a vertical reference line or to establish a vertical or horizontal datum. The plumb bob work principle stands on gravity.
Hang the plumb bob, and let gravity draw a vertical reference line for you. If you hang it near the wall, the plumb bob will let you know your wall is upright or not.
A staple gun is the number one tool when you need to work on insulation, house wrap, roofing, wiring, and carpeting. It also could be helpful when working with upholstery.
A staple gun is used to drive heavy metal staples into wood and plastic and can attach different applications to a variety of materials.
Diagonal Cutting Pliers
Do you need to cut a wire or any pins which are located out of reach by your favorite pliers? No problem, diagonal cutting pliers have the cutting edge diagonally offset.
So you can reach any wire with them. Open jaws, place the object you want to cut between jaws, and squeeze handles. You did it.
Nylon spring clamps
Spring clamps are the best solution when you need something to temporarily secure, for example, textile, plastic, light metal plate, tarps, or covers.
Just fasten it with clamps and then glue it, drill it, whatever.
The benefits of nylon clamps are there lightweight and versatile.
You can find different types of circular saws, such as a table saw, and hand-operated saw and others. The main common task is to cut wood. But it depends on the blade you are using; it can handle steel, aluminum, plastic, etc.
Spray Paint Respirator
To spray without respirator is a bad idea. Different spray ingredients can cause headaches, dizziness, loss of coordination, and nausea.
The long-term effect is even worse. They are damage to the liver and central nervous system. Paint respirator will keep you on the safe side. This part of your self protects tools are essential and worth any spent cent on it.
A thin layer of polycarbonate or polyethylene terephthalate glycol helps to protect your face from flying objects, paint, road debris, and many others.
It is cheaper than medical help, and we definitely recommend using it while you are sawing, drilling, or doing any other hazard work.
Such tape is also known as masking tape. The main task is to mask off areas that should not be painted.
Painter’s tape is made with a crepe paper to make it possible to tear it easily. The adhesive is pressure-sensitive, so it is easy to remove it in a single strip after painting.
Plumber tape is usually used in cases when the connection of pipes does not have a built-in rubber seal.
This tape can be used almost with all types of pipes (plastic and metal) and could be found in different widths. It could be a part of a temporary or permanent solution for preventing leakage.
In 2025 a bench vise will celebrate 100 years. In 1925 this tool made a revolution and became very popular soon. Before, it was impossible to find such an efficient and straightforward solution to hold a metal or anything else while cutting, drilling, or filing.
Heavy-duty vises are 55,000 psi cast steel or 65,000 psi ductile iron and are very reliable.
Are you working on interior finishing or cabinetry? The finish nailer is great for it, and it is a handy tool for any projects that require aesthetics.
Notice that finish nailers and framing nailers are similar but at the same time, different tools. To reach the best result in your project, use the right tool for it.
The telescoping ladders have several significant benefits that make them better than extension and step ladders. Telescoping ladders do not require a lot of space for storage, and they are lightweight and easy to transport.
Just pay attention, that your future ladder has to have an EN131 certificate or have a certificate according to ANSI specifications.
This knife is very similar to a putty knife. The difference only in its width. The joint knife is handy to spread join compound and can easily apply mud to inside the corners where walls meet.
Jump leads, booster cables are other names for jumper cables. It is a pair of insulated wires which can connect two batteries and pass the energy from one to another.
It is nice to have one pair in your car. Once it could help you to start your car without additional problems. The lower the gauge, the more effective cables are. So choose the best one!
When you are working with the flooring, you spend a lot of time on your knees. As we know, the knees are the largest and almost the important joints in your body.
Healthy knees are the key to successful standing, walking, running, and swimming. That is why it is so essential to protect your knees from shocks and other impacts. The best way to do it – is to wear knee pads.
These pliers are most handy while you need to hold objects in place when the added grip is essential. Another situation when you will use it is when you need torque to pry something.
Chalk Line Reel
This is the best solution to make a straight and long line on a flat surface. Pay attention that there are several colors available on the market, and all of them are made for different conditions of use.
As an example, blue chalk makes a temporary line. It is good to use it when you need to delete this line after you finish the work. But it will be not handy outdoor because you will lose the chalk line after any rain.
For that case, it is better to use red chalk. It is very reliable, and it is hard to wash it out.
There are files for metal and wood. First, one is called mill files, the other wood files. Depends on your task you have to choose the right one. Also, take a look at different shapes and sizes.
You can find over 20 different types. All of their suites are better for the exact kind of work. So you have to buy a whole set or only several files in case you know precisely what are you going to do with them.
Laser Tape Measure
Do you remember our first pick? It was a classic tape measure. This tool has the same aim, but it makes your work much faster and easier. Another benefit is the maximum distance you can measure.
While standard tape has 16-32 feet in length, a usual laser tape can cover up to 300 feet. The best laser tape on today’s market can measure the distance of 825 feet with significant accuracy.
As you can guess, the laser level is the next generation of the standard builder level. It is a small and efficient tool that projects a fixed beam in a plane about the horizontal or vertical axis. This is the most useful way to transfer a level from one place to another as is required.
This tool is often used to apply or attach something. It is very popular among handcrafters and is always used in work with upholstery.
There are types on the market, mechanic, and pneumatic. The second one can be used even for heavy-duty work, for example, when you need to put staples inside a metal or thin wood.
Do you need to paint a large surface in a short time and with high quality? Then the paint sprayer is a tool for you.
Depending on the number of square feet you need to cover, you will choose an airless sprayer or a sprayer with an air compressor. The main rule – the cheaper the sprayer is, the less square feet you can paint. And vice versa.
Paint and Mud Mixer
Talking about the painting job, we have to mention paint and mud mixer. It is the best and easiest solution for mixing paint, grout, epoxy, and other liquids.
It works together with every drill or electric screwdriver. So you don’t need to buy any additional hand tools.
Surge protectors can save lots of your expensive electric tools. A quality surge protector can stop strong power surges and keep all plugged-in devices. It blocks any unwanted voltages above a safe threshold.
Work belt makes your job much more efficient because it allows you to carry several tools at the moment and keep your hands free. There are leather and textile belts on the market, both work great.
The only thing you have to look for is the number of different pockets and their sizes. At least you need places for hammers, screwdriver, utility knife, nails, and screws.
Another essential question is about size. But it should not confuse you too much. Take the size of your jeans and add 2 inches, what would be the size of your belt.
The first question from rookies is about the difference between the usual hairdryer and a heat gun. If no, can we use a hairdryer instead?
Our answer is “no.” The conventional hairdryer has a maximum temperature of about 158F. While a heat gun can warm up to 1100F. Feel the difference?
Such hot air can be used to strip paint or dry out damp wood or room. Also, you can weld and band plastic, and do many other things.
As you have already mentioned, lots of tools in this section aimed to make our work more accessible and more comfortable.
Workbench needed for us to hold workpieces while we are working with other instruments. Depends on available space, you have to choose one that will fit you.
It is one of the most popular tools for carpenters. Speed square has functions of framing square and try square.
Altogether, it helps to make frequent measurements quickly. It is handy when you need to calculate octagons, make diagonal lines, create a stairway, or measure the angle where walls meet.
I guess you got the main idea of this tool from its name. Using this tool means safe. It prevents you from being shocked by electricity.
The use is simple, connect one probe to one wire and the other probe to the opposite wire. Another option is of the voltage tester is a screwdriver tester. It can show only if the circuit is dead or not.
A shop vacuum is similar to a regular vacuum that we are using at home. The main difference is in its power, size, and durability. While our home vacuum supposed only to suck dust, dirt, and other small materials.
A shop vacuum can handle debris, materials from building sites, small stones, etc. Choosing between the usual vacuum and shop vacuum, I will recommend you take the second one. It is not only durable but sometimes cheaper than the latest models of home vacuums.
An orbital sander is one of the big families of different sanders. You can also find random and palm sanders, which used for more specified tasks from my point of view.
An orbital sander is a grate for preparing a surface before painting and also is useful when you have to get into tight spaces.
A stud finder is not a necessary tool in case you need to drill walls only from time to time. Another side, I will recommend having it, cause it can save your time and nerves.
A stud finder creates an electrical field and measures how the wall responds. The stud in-wall effects on the electric field and the stud finder show it.
This tool is a must-have. With its help, you can make straight and curved cuts in different materials. For example, wood, plastic, plywood, metal, ceramic, and particleboard.
Other things you have to know about it are next. The maximum sufficient length of a saw is usually 3,” and a jigsaw is very simple to use. And the most important – it is very safe.
In case you need to cut tile or grind metal, an angle grinder will be handy. Also, it can polish or sharp metal, or work as a rout out mortar.
It is a viral tool in garages, cause it helps to get rid of rust and lose paint quickly. By changing the disc, you can change the material you want to work with. For example, an angle grinder can work as a sander.
Ratchet Bar Clamp
With this tool, you can apply precise and consistent pressure. It is useful when you need to fix something together and leave it for some time.
For example, in case you glued something and want to give more time for the glue to dry. The ratchet bar clamp is also handy for woodworks and is popular among scale modeling lovers.
Chapter Five – Expert Level
Welcome to the final and the most talkative part of our tool tale. In this chapter, our hero will become an expert and professional who can carry out any repair task.
He will use the latest invented tools, the most difficult ones, and be efficient. Another distinctive feature of this part is that at this moment, our hero can have journeyman.
When the inches are vital, and you don’t have any chance of mistake. You need something very accurate. As an example, digital caliper.
The right digital caliper has an accuracy of 0.001 Inch is a precision instrument that allows you to feel confident.
A line laser can build a dead-straight beam over a distance of 25 feet. It would be handy when you need to install drywall or hang an art. Also, it can work instead of a chalk box.
Nothing complicated with this point. Tripod needed to maintain any laser in the position that you need. It is not expensive and convenient. What else is required?
All kinds of lasers are handy during your projects, but it could be a bit complicated to use them outdoor during shiny weather.
In such circumstances could be used as a laser detector. The main task for it is to pick up the laser that was generated by your laser level and make it visible for you.
We have already known about the builder’s level. The optical level is the next step. It is the more convenient and contemporary method to set up level points, to set up or transfer horizontal levels.
Modular Tool Box
The more tools you have, the more place you need to store them. The modular toolbox is one of the most efficient solutions to organize all of your tools.
Don’t remember controlling humidity in them. Apply a protective coating to the tools in case you will not use them for a long time and use any rust removal, in case your tools start getting rust.
One more time, let’s talk about safety. If you are working on height more prominent than your own. You have to use the safety equipment.
Not only common sense but also, OSHA recommends employers to use systems that prevent falls.
There are several possible weights on the market. The most common are from 6 to 18 pounds. The bigger the sledgehammer, the more significant potential destructive power is. While choosing one, pay attention to weight and shaft length.
Sliding Miter Saw
This is definitely the tool for the professional carpenter. It can make both miters and bevels. The last one is not so common to be used by average workers and is mostly used during complicated projects.
One of the benefits of a sliding miter saw is a possibility to cut wide boards. That is allowed by a sliding out blade.
In case you decided that you are not ready for the sliding miter saw, the table saw is what you need instead. It is smaller, but still one of the most versatile and efficient tools for woodwork.
It can not work with wide boards, but still can make cross-cuts, dado, square, rip, and rabbet.
Sawzall Reciprocating Saw
My favorite part of all projects is demolishing. This saw is so powerful that it can cut almost any building material. It is often used for remodeling and demolition. But it could also be useful for cutting small trees or wide branches.
Usually, it will be enough to have only one wrench with the most common size of 18Inch, which has a head to lock pipes with a diameter of up to 2,5 Inches.
Pay attention that your wrench has to have a bit angled head. That will make it possible to work with pipes that are placed close to the walls.
Anyone can use a torque wrench. It does not matter which level of experience you have. But unfortunately, usually, only highly experienced maintenance specialists handle it.
A torque wrench is used to apply a specific torque to a bolt or a nut. And in general, it should be used all the time when you are repairing a car or any other machine. The most commonly used sizes are 3/8 and 1/2 inches.
Wood Moisture Meter
The working principle of a wood moisture meter is based on electrical resistance. While wood is a natural insulator, water is a conductor. As a result, the dryer wood is, more resistant to the electricity it would be.
